Distributed in partnership with the United Way of Greensboro, this program and these products are designed to meet the number one need of the nonprofit sector- computer technology. According to an internal study conducted by Gifts In Kind International, entitled "2000 Technology Tracking Study of the Nonprofit Sector," computer technology and training continues to be the nonprofit sector's most critical product need. Through it's TechLearn program, Gifts In Kind International has provided technology product donations to nonprofits in dozens of cities across North America, including New York City; Rochester, NY; Washington D.C.; Alexandria, VA; Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Wichita, KS; Sarasota, Fort Walton Beach, FL; Cambridge, MA; Greenville, NC; and Ottawa, ON.

Speaking at the event was Ms. Barbara Florence, Vice President for Corporate and Network Development for Gifts In Kind International, who stated, "In recent years, Gifts In Kind International's generous high-tech donors have provided hundreds of millions worth of technology, to thousands of nonprofits around the world. However, nonprofits are still lagging behind their for-profit counterparts, and their technology needs continue to grow. Our TechLearn program is helping them bridge the technology gap, and this contribution is just one part of that ongoing effort."

Following Ms. Florence's remarks, representatives of several nonprofit organizations received free computer hardware and software from the Gifts In Kind distribution center at the United Way of Greater Greensboro.
