Today Gifts in Kind International, the world's leading charity in product philanthropy, announced a new addition to its comprehensive listing of donated office equipment and supplies and technology services for nonprofits. A new service including web site design, hosting, remote technical support, and technology planning is now available through Gifts In Kind International's Global Resource Directory. The services are aimed at all nonprofits but provide substantial benefit to those with an annual budget under $1 million dollars who generally do not have a web site, technology plan, or web hosting services.

This new technology focused service was developed to respond to the annual Technology Survey of Non-profits conducted by Gifts In Kind of the charitable sector. The program, established in conjunction with IT Specialists, Inc. of Alexandria Virginia, will provide members of the worldwide Gifts In Kind International affiliate network with technology support in four critical areas:

Web Site Design: Non-profits view an online template menu to select a number of "looks," texture, automation features, and other Web site functions, to simply and easily give their organization a unique internet presence.

Web Hosting: IT Specialists hosts the Web sites for a fraction of the normal cost averaging less than $300 dollars annually for smaller nonprofit requirements.

Technology Planning: Nonprofits can get help in accessing their technology environment and developing a plan that fits their technology needs. A technology plan is a critical first step for any non-profit.

Remote Technology Support: Nonprofits can access a technology support hot line to diagnose systems problems or other critical advice to keep their operations running smoothly. The support is a phone call away and the low cost makes it an efficient way to add technical advice to your organization.

Susan Corrigan, the President and CEO of Gifts In Kind International, stated "Our research indicates that nonprofits have two really key areas in which technology assistance is need, technology planning, and on-going low cost expert advice. We think our new service which also provides a new communication capacity by creating a web site at low cost is a very important benefit for the 50,000 participating non-profits we service around the world. Nonprofits serve on the front line providing support to the disadvantaged. Through this new discounted service Gifts In Kind International is able to bring these critical technology support services to nonprofits helping them to better serve their community."
